Here is a first glimpse of some images from the world of BCC from photographs of employees (members of the BCC family), people, events, and memorable moments in BCC's history published in the bank's in-house magazine, BCC International. The selection includes photographs contributed by BCC employees and their families and those obtained from other sources. Some are duplicated in other section pages where photographs are immediately associated with specific subject matters.

Gabon: Staff members of BCCI Gabon branch who took part in the first national car race in the country. From left to right: Mr Tash, M Agne, Mr and Mrs Babacar Ndaw and Mr K J Faustin Mitamona. Gabon is a French speaking country on the west coast of Central Africa.
India: Mr Ali Abbas, an officer from the BCCI Bahrain branch, and his wife being introduced to the Indian Prime Minister Mrs Gandhi, at her residence in Delhi.
United Kingdom: The TV series "Bird of Prey" shown on BBC in April 1982 was partly filmed in BCCI Birmingham branch. The production manager of the series visited the bank and was impressed by the high standard of interior design. Mr Shaukat Ali, manager of the Colmore Row branch, had obtained permission for BBC to film on Saturdays, when all banks in the UK were required to close during the week-end.
United Arab Emirates: Mr Agha Hasan Abedi, President BCC, with His Excellency Dr Mahmoud Hamra Krouha, director general of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (a major client of BCCI Abu Dhabi main branch), during a visit  to Abu Dhabi, to keep him informed of BCC's progress and to thank him for his continued support for BCCI.

United Kingdom: Mr Abid Hussain Khan, the son of a BCC family member working in London, who won the top prize in an energy­ saving competition organised by local government. The winning idea was to use pressure pads on the floor to switch on lights in the town hall and save thousands of pounds in costs a year.

Senegal: Mr M B Rao, BCCI Dakar branch, at a reception given by the Mr Abdou Diouf, President of Senegal, to celebrate Independence Day. Mr Rao made full use of this opportunity to acquaint the President with BCC’s vision.  Senegal is a French speaking country in West Africa.
United Kingdom: BCCI London chess club celebrated the end of its first season in the London Banks Chess League by beating National Westminster Bank 6--0. This was the largest winning margin of the 1982 season. The team of six players was drawn from a pool of 17 who rep­resented BCCI during the season. Club members: Ms K Y Chak (trainee officer, Leadenhall Street), Mr S Khan (Economic Wing central office London), Mr C Samuel (Documentary Credits, Leadenhall Street), Mr J C Skipworth (UK Region, Personnel Department) and A Yousuf (Documentary Credits, Leadenhall Street). China: Mr Ashraf Khan, BCC deputy representative (right) receiving the President of the Bank of China at the official opening of BCC representative office in Beijing. Behind him is the Vice President of the Bank of China and in the background Mr Sultan Khan, BCC chief representative and adviser to BCC. Mr Sultan Khan had played a key role as Pakistan’s former ambassador to China ​and Foreign Secretary in facilitating the first visit by US President Nixon to China in 1972, leading to the normalisation of China-US relations.

France: Participants at BCCI Paris region first training seminar. The seminar held in Nice, on the south coast of France, brought together the region's senior officers and some new BCC members working in the area. The chairman of the seminar was a former senior manager of the Banque de France (Central Bank of France). The programme covered the French economic system, banking in France and export credit techniques. The seminar was the first of a series which was intended to speed BCCI's integration into the Francophone zone.
United Kingdom: Mr lmran Khan, captain of the Pakistan cricket team, visit to BCCI 100 Leadenhall Street where he was a guest at lunch. The test match series was played in the summer of 1981 bet­ween Pakistan and England. 
Pakistan: Mr Syed Nasir Hameed from BCCI Karachi, a keen car-racing fan, was on holiday in Europe, when he met world-famous racing star Niky Lauda.

United Kingdom: Members in the first season of BCCI London football club which was welcomed into the London Banks Football League. Their playing shirts displayed a distinct BCC logo on them. Committee members: Mr James Fairfield (president), Mr Terry McCarthy (fixtures secretary), and Mr John Clark (team selector). Other committee members were Mr Doug Viet and Mr Charles Paton-Phillip from BCCI Wigmore Street branch.

Kenya: Giving Mombasa style. BCCI Mombasa branch opened an account in the name of a local orphanage to which they contributed. They also invited donations from well-wishers outside the bank. The first gift they gave was to the destitute children was a television to help with their education and to also provide some entertainment.
United Kingdom: Stationers to the BCC World. In front Mr M Faizan with members of his department in London who was supplied BCC with all the printed material used by the bank world-wide. The advertising brochures, gifts, memorabilia, diaries and showcards were also produced by this department.

United Kingdom: Ms Madelyne Walsh-Holme, secretary to Mr Ameer Siddiki, senior executive at BCCI central office, London, who won first prize in a competition to determine the ideal qualities in a secretary. The competition was organized by Girl About Town, a popular London magazine. She won a summer holiday for two in the Mediterranean and a winter holiday in the Alps in Europe, a bunch of flowers every month for one year, and a cash prize.
Colombia: Bogota, capital of Colombia. BCC's office there was part of BCCI’s growing network in the Caribbean and South America. Colombia is a Spanish speaking country in South America.
United Kingdom: A group of BCC family members from the UK region learning to parachute. Most of the time was spent getting to know the complex equipment and practising landing until leaving them all bruised and weary and feeling decidedly nervous. A plane then took them up to 2500 feet, the instructor opened the door and the first in line was told to jump out! A feeling of sheer terror was quickly followed by a rush of wind, a tug at the shoulders as the 'chute opened and then a few ecstatic moments as the ground slowly rose to meet the jumper falling towards the ground.

Switzerland: BCC Group Annual Management Conference, 20-21 February 1982, Geneva.
United Kingdom: BCC world ranking - Two highly respected journals, The Banker and Euromoney, both published from London, surveyed the performances of the world’s largest commercial banks in 1982.
