A forthcoming book - re-examining the allegations against BCCI
Verdict Deferred examines how allegations against BCCI became a sweeping judgement on the entire Bank and the thousands of employees who had no part in wrongdoing.
It reviews the evidence, distinguishes established facts from allegations, and considers the responsibility of individuals and management. It also asks whether comparable misconduct at other major banks received the same regulatory treatment.
At its heart is a question: why was the verdict not deferred until the draft Section 41 report had been finalised. its findings verified and Abu Dhabi given an opportunity to respond?
Completing the BCCI Insights website is the first step. Its documents and research will provide the principal foundation for the book, bringing this re-examination into a permanent published record.
