The Library is a source of information providing free access to various documents, reports, articles, and other materials and items related to Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI) and its banking subsidiaries, affiliated banks, and companies, known as the BCC Group. The period dates prior to the inception of BCCI in 1972 to its controversial closure until BCCI was finally liquidated in 2013.

The full information essential to conduct an independent and objective review of 'What Was BCCI?', with a proper understanding of the reasons for BCC's spectacular growth around the world, may no longer be available in print or online. When BCCI was suddenly shutdown worldwide on 5 July 1991 and placed in liquidation, the appointed Liquidators seized all records and documents at BCC at branches and offices that were under their control.  After BCCI was finally liquidated in 2013, the Liquidators would have destroyed the records and documents of BCC in their possession, as they were not required in law to hold these longer than necessary.
