Here is a first glimpse of some images from the world of BCC from photographs of employees (members of the BCC family), people, events, and memorable moments in BCC's history published in the bank's in-house magazine, BCC International. The selection includes photographs contributed by BCC employees and their families and those obtained from other sources. Some are duplicated in other section pages where photographs are immediately associated with specific subject matters.

Togo: The President of Togo conferring a medal with the honorary title of Officier de l'Ordre du Mono on Mr Tariq Ahmed of BCCI Lome branch, in recognition of his distinguished services to Togo. The Order of Mono is the highest Togolese order or chivalry, established in 1961 and named after the major river passing through the country: the Mono River.  The Order consists of five grades, awarded to both Togolese civilians and military personnel, as well as to foreign nationals. Togo, officially the Togolese Republic (French: République togolaise), is a French-speaking country in West Africa

United Kingdom: Mr Ewan Burnett (centre), security guard at BCCI 100 Leadenhall Street London branch with his parents after the presentation ceremony at Buckingham Palace in April 1989 holding the Queen of United Kingdom's Gallantry Medal for outstanding bravery.
Mr Burnett was travelling home through East London on the evening of January 26, 1987 when he witnessed the shooting of a policeman by two men. He immediately went to the policeman's assistance and, without thought for his own safety, fought off the armed criminals until more police arrived to help.

United Arab Emirates: His Royal Highnesses Charles, the Prince of Wales and heir apparent to the throne of the United Kingdom (on left) among the guests at the opening of the British Council's new teaching centre in Al Ain, the opening ceremony performed by Prince Charles. On the right is Mr Sanwar-Ul-Karim, manager of BCCI Al-Ain branch. His Royal Highness made a point of thanking Mr Karim for all the assistance he rendered to the British Council in Al-Ain.
Their Royal Highness the Prince and Princess of Wales were on a visit to the United Arab Emirates and also spent time with the royal families of Abu Dhabi and Al-Ain and attended the camel race at Al-Ain.

United Kingdom: Mr Kiran Brahmbhatt of BCCI London who played alongside representatives from the Midland, Barclays, NatWest, Lloyds and Bank of Scotland When the United London Banks Cricket Association (ULBCA) played the Civil Service on May 25, 1989. Batting on an uneven wicket, Mr Brahmbhatt scored 101 runs in a match of 55 overs. And the final score? ULBCA 248 for six wickets, Civil Service 181 all out.
United Kingdom: Several members of BCCI branches in the UK Region who successfully completed the Chartered Institute of Bankers Stage One course in May 1989, together with their tutors. The course was run by BCC's Regional Training and Development Centre in London, with the co­operation of the Institute.
United Arab Emirates: Sheikh Hasher Al Maktoum (centre), Minister of Information in the Government of Dubai, at BCCI’s stand No. A-1, at the Dubai Money Show. On the left is Mr Javed Ali Khan of BCC (Emirates), and on the right are Mr Brian Hayley of BCCI Isle of Man and Mr Amjad Imam of BCCI Emirates Deira Dubai. Towards the end of 1989 BCC (Emirates) and BCCI jointly represented the BCC Group at the annual Dubai Money Show, an event for banks and other financial institutions organised by the World Trade Centre, Dubai. A total of 48 financial institutions participated in the show.
United Kingdom: The members of BCCI Graduate Group 15 who completed their one-year training and development programme at the Regional Training and Development Centre, London, in August 1989.
Spain: Members of the London BCCI Cricket Club with the NEHRU MEMORIAL INTERNATIONAL CRICKET TOURNAMENT TROPHY. At the invitation of BCC Spain, the BCCI Cricket Club took part in the First Annual Nehru Memorial International Cricket Tournament held from September 29 to October 1, 1989 in Madrid. The other teams were from Cricket World, the London based international monthly magazine, Pakistan International Airlines (Spain) and Madrid Cricket Club. BCC won all matches with a good team performance, and Mr Fayzle Halim was voted batsman of the tournament. The trophy - a magnificent silver cup - was presented by the Indian High Commissioner. The club chairman was Mr John Hillbery, senior executive at BCC central office in London.
BCC Green Card: A credit card for holders to use knowing that they are helping to provide a better environment.

United Kingdom: H. E. Mr M. K. Rasgotra, the High Commissioner for India in the United Kingdom, awarded Mr Swaleh Naqvi, BCC’s chied executive officer "The Nehru Centenary - Excellence Award" for all of BCC at a recent ceremony in London, United Kingdom.
United Kingdom: Left to right - Mr Basharat Malik, head of inspection department at UK Regional Office London, Mr Swaleh Naqvi, chief executive BCC and Sir Angus Oglivy, British businessman best known as the husband of Princess Alexandria, a first cousin of Queen Elizabeth II of United Kingdom. BCC's headquarters (central office) at 100 Leadenhall Street London was the setting for a meeting of the Prince's Youth Business Trust on 6 December 1989. The Trust was founded by the Prince of Wales in November 1986. Mr Swaleh Naqvi handed over a cheque representing part of the bank's £500,000 covenant to the Trust over the next few years. Mr D​ildar Rlzv​i, BCCI senior executives, was nominated by His Royal Highness Prince Charles as a member of the Prince's Youth Business Trust's Advisory Council. In addition, Mr Basharat Malik was seconded full time to the Trust, to act as Its national co-ordinator (community affairs).
Luxembourg: The staff of BCCI in Luxembourg with Regional general manager Mr S. Akhlaque Husain and Luxembourg branch manager Mr Ajmal Afzal, celebrating the seventeenth birthday of Luxembourg branch at a get together on 21 September 1989. The first branches of BCCI were opened in Luxembourg, London (United Kingdom) and Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) on 21 September 1972.
China: BCCI delegation on an official visit to China in 1989 led by Mr. Swaleh Naqvi (far right) acting President BCC Group central office London United Kingdom. Hong Kong: BCC Hong Kong Annual Dinner in 1989: Mr Rizwan Bin Farouq, Assistant Manager, central branch, and captain of BCC's cricket team and represented Hong Kong National Team, receiving best all rounder award fron Mr Mushtaq, General Manager.

Turkey: Mr Ahmet Atasoy, who joined BCC in 1981 as a chauffeur and was the most senior member of the BCC family in Turkey, was chosen to cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony for the new office which was moved from next door to the premises of the existing Istanbul branch. Family members gathered at a small reception, at which the chief guest was Mr Ahmet Atasoy - the first person to be employed when BCC began operations in Turkey.
