Here is a first glimpse of some images from the world of BCC from photographs of employees (members of the BCC family), people, events, and memorable moments in BCC's history published in the bank's in-house magazine, BCC International. The selection includes photographs contributed by BCC employees and their families and those obtained from other sources. Some are duplicated in other section pages where photographs are immediately associated with specific subject matters.

Bangladesh: Giving in Bangladesh. Mr M A Rashid, General Manager for BCC Bangladesh handing a donation in Dhaka from BCC to Lt Gen H M Ershad, President of Bangladesh, with a message from ​Mr Agha Hasan Abedi, BCC President​ in London conveyed in a letter carried by Mr Askari H Khan, personal assistant to the BCC President. This BCC's contribution towards the country's relief work ​was following the cyclone that swept the southern coastal belt of Bangladesh ​in early 1986 leaving behind a tragic trail of death and destruction once again. Individual members of the BCC family also donated additional money for ​the relief work. Read more in The Founder: Philanthropy - Giving.
Bangladesh: Mr R. N. Malhotra, governor of the Reserve Bank of India ​being welcomed in Dhaka by Mr Dildar Rizvi, General Manager, BCC Far East Regional Office, and flanked by Mr M A Rashid, General Manager Bangladesh, Mr Akhtar Anis, International Division, Central Office, London and senior officers from BCC Far East Regional Office in Hong Kong. BCC ​extended assistance to two international gatherings in Dhaka, ​the capital of Bangladesh. The first was a meeting of governors, deputy governors and other officials of central banks from South East Asia, New Zealand and Australia. The second was the launch of the South Asia Association for Regional Cooperation. Heads of State and government ministers representing Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka attended this conference.

Isle of Man: The Island's newly issued stamps to commemorate the 1986 Commonwealth Games held in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Two members of the BCC family in the Isle of Man are featured on the stamps. Mr Stephen Porter, a cyclist who represented his country in the Games, and Mr Philip Bannan, a race walker who raced for the Isle of Man in international events in the 1960s. Following Post Office conventions, neither person was named on the stamps but the artist who produced them worked from action photographs of the two individuals.

Jamaica: First BCCI branch location in Montego Bay, in the Caribbean. In 1986 the branch moved into a splendid new building.
Pakistan: BCC's successful candidates with executives of the BCC South Asia Regional Office in Karachi - Mr M. A. Bukhari, Mr M.A. Wasay and Mr F. Rizvi. 13 BCC officers were awarded prizes and medals for their excellent performance in the Institute of Bankers in Pakistan examination of 1984. They were awarded the prizes by the Governor of the State Bank at the 34th Annual General Meeting of the Institute of Bankers held in 1986.
China: Mr Zafar Iqbal, managing director, and Mr Bashir Tahir, general manager, BCC (Emirates) in discussion in Beijing with Mr Tang Gengyao, senior member of the People's Bank of China (central bank) and Director of State Administration of Exchange Control. Mr Iqbal and Mr Tahir travelled to China to explore the possibilities of developing business between the United Arab Emirates and the People's Republic of China.
United Kingdom: Group 12 of graduate recruits who received their training at the BCC Training and Development centre In London. The intensive training given provided a comprehensive introduction to BCC and to international banking. ​Read more in BCCI the Bank - Human Resources - Training and Development.
United Kingdom: Mr. Kamran Rizvi on behalf of BCC attended the Commonwealth Day celebrations at Malborough House in London. The guest of honour was H.M. Queen Elizabeth, to whom Mr. Rizvi had the honour of being presented.
India: Giving in India. Mr K Murari (L), country manager BCCI Bombay (now Mumbai) handing donation from BCC to Mr Rajiv Gandhi (R), the Prime Minister of India, to the fund for the Golden Hour Project inaugurated by Mrs Sonia Gandhi on November 11, 1985. The project set up and operated a fleet of ambulances to provide medical assistance in every part of Bombay. BCC Bombay also made contributions to the Indian Cancer Society, the Indian Council for the Development of International Economic Relations, and the Indian Institute of Marketing and Management in Delhi.

Jordan: HRH Prince Abdullah (L) with Mr Waquar A Khan, manager of BCC-Amman (R). BCC sponsored a team in the Jordanian International Car Rally led by HRH Prince Abdullah, his co-driver was Mr Amar Bilbeisi, son of Mr Fakhri Bilbeisi, regional manager of BCCI-Amman.
Canada: Mr Wang Deyang, vice-president and chairman of the Bank of China (centre), and Madame Bai Shizhen, deputy general manager (on left), with Mr Abbas Jafferi of BCC Canada (on right). They were on a visit Canada on an official mission.
Kuwait: Members of the cricket team of Kuwait International Finance Co. (KIFCO), an affiliated finance company of BCC, with Mr Ashraf Khan, the head of KIFCO. The team celebrated its tenth year in the sport with a particularly successful season in 1985-86, winning five out of the eight major tournaments in which it played.
Canada: Mr Abbas Jafferi, of BCC Canada (centre), introduced Mr Edwin C. Tauro of Taurus Exports (third from left) to Mr David Patterson, Premier of the Province of Ontario, at a breakfast meeting arranged by the Export Club of Canada. On the far right is Mr Joe Janthur, president of the Club.
Ghana: Mr Jimmy Carter, former President of the USA and chairman of Global 2000, with Mr Agha Hasan Abedi, President of BCC and joint deputy chairman of Global 2000, during their visit to Ghana to launch of an agricultural project in Ghana, under the Global 2000 scheme. Mr Abedi also visited BCC Ghana during his stay.
Panama: Members of the basketball team of Panama and Colon at a gathering on the Atlantic coast. The main attraction was a basketball match. The canal opened in 1914 cuts through Panama was constructed to connect the Atlantic Ocean with the Pacific Ocean to enable shipping trade to avoid the lengthy and hazardous around South America.

China: Former British Prime Minister James Callagham with BCCI Team walking towards the Mausoleum of Sun Yat Sen in Nanjing, China, to pay homage. Sun Yat Sen who is considered one of the greatest leaders of modern China served as the provisional first president of China and was the first leader of the Kuomintang (Nationalist Party of the People's Republic of China). He is also called the "Father of China" in China. Sir James Callaghan (later Lord Callaghan) was on a private visit to China in 1986 and the main purpose was to study the possibility of arranging foreign funds for the developing and rural industries. Along with Mr Agha Hasan Abedi, BCC President, Sir Callaghan was a trustee of the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust established in October 1982 to encourage students from Commonwealth countries to study at the University of Cambridge in UK. They were both also trustees of the Zimbabwe Cambridge Trust established in February 1987 to enable young Zimbabweans to pursue postgraduate studies at Cambridge.
United Kingdom: Prince Charles of the royal family of the United Kingdom being presented with a buttonhole as the Princess of Wales looks on during their recent visit to Project Fullemploy's Lambeth Training Project at the Brixton Enterprise Centre, south London. Since 1980 BCC was involved with Project Fullemploy, a UK charity that aims to promote the involvement of minority communities in Britain's economic life. BCC provided financial support for this initiative and also helped in other ways, such as training students, a practical example of BCC's Corporate Philosophy of Giving and Service to Humanity.
United Kingdom: Major Parkash Singh (second from right), with H.R.H. Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom. Father of Mrs Nerlap Singh (wearing a pink dress), who worked in bills department, central unit at BCCI 100 Leadenhall Street branch London, Major Prakash Singh was invited by the Queen to a reception to honour holders of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award of the British honours system awarded for bravery ‘in the presence of the enemy’.
Isle of Man, United Kingdom: Mr Stephen Porter on the cycle of BCCI Isle of Man branch who took part in his second Commonwealth Games held in Edinburg, Scotland. BCC travellers cheques was the official Games cheques. BCCI pledged 50% of all the commission earned on sales by BCCI branches in Scotland and expected to raise £3,000 for the appeal by the organisers of the Games to make up the shortfall. With Mr Stephen Porter are Mr Chris Johnson (first on left) and Mr Munim Burney (fourth from left) from UK Regional Office, and members of BCCI branches in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
United Arab Emirates: Mr Khalifa Mohammad Shaheen, who was with BCC since 1973, and Mr Sanwar-Ul-Kharim, manager of BCCI Al-Ain branch. He won first prize in the United Arab Emirates annual camel races. These races are attended by the Rulers of the seven states that comprise the UAE and the winners of the three-day event received handsome prizes from H. H. Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan A1 Nahyan, President of the UAE.
